Grab life by the balls. Preferably edible ones but whatever floats your boat eh?!,🤷🏻‍♀️😆.It’s been a hot minute since I posted #sorrynotsorry but as the holiday season is approaching it’s time to think about staying healthy but still enjoying the festivities. So I made a point of expressing the importance of balance in my previous post and keeping sugars and junk foods in general to a minimum but of course we Gota enjoy life or else what’s the point? I have a frickin asshole of a sweet tooth that haunts me so it’s essential I have healthy treats available to stop me filling my shopping trolly up with chocolate bars and cookies coz ya girl here is easily swayed especially during the festive season coz I luuuurve Christmas and all the noms that come with it. These chocolate “Nutella balls are scrumptious and hit the sweet spot 👌🏼 now ya got no excuse to eat the crap just pop one of these in ya gob instead and call it a day. Nuff said 💁🏻‍♀️.Recipe for 8-10 balls ( depending on size you want them. I doubled up as I made some for a friend to ) 1 cup of hazelnuts + 8 to put in the centre 1/2 cup of gluten free rolled oats4 soft pitted medjool dates2 tbs raw cacao powder1 tbs maple syrup or quality honey 2 tbs hazelnut or cashew butter Pinch of sea salt1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp cinnamon To coat the balls:1/4 cup of finely chopped hazelnuts 1/4 cup of finely chopped sunflower seeds1/4 cup 90% dark chocolate shavingsMix together in a bowl.First add your hazelnuts and oats into the food processor and blend until a fine meal texture. Feel free to have a rougher consistency if you prefer but I like mine more finer for a truffle like ball. Then add the remaining ingredients and leave processor running until it forms a ball. Take out the mixture and roughly roll into balls. Then press a hazelnut into the centre and roll again into smooth balls. Once all the balls are done roll them into the prepared coating. Keep refrigerated for up to two weeks. Enjoy!
